RULES

The selected remixer will receive:

• $300 cash prize

• 50% of the publishing on the new remix

• 10% of master royalties generated by the new remix

• Official release through 212 Records

These percentages apply only to the new remix recording and composition and do not grant the remixer any ownership, publishing, royalties, or other rights in the original version of “Zones.”

Final royalty terms and release details will be documented in a separate written agreement prior to release.

TIMELINE

Demo deadline: December 1, 2026

If your remix is selected, you will have until December 31, 2026 to work with us to finalize and deliver an approved mix and master.

RULES

• Vocals are required. Your remix must incorporate the official “Zones” vocals provided for the competition. Additional production stems are optional—you may use any, all, or none of them.

• Make it your own. Outside of the official “Zones” files provided, your remix must consist only of original material created by you or material you fully own/control and have the right to use. No uncleared samples, unauthorized third-party vocals, beats, loops, or other copyrighted material.

• No generative AI. The remix may not contain music, vocals, lyrics, instrumentation, or other creative material generated using generative AI tools.

• Competition use only. The “Zones” vocals and production stems are provided solely for creating a submission to this competition. You may not share, sell, redistribute, upload, sample, or otherwise use the provided files for any other purpose.

• No unauthorized release. Your remix may not be publicly released, distributed, monetized, uploaded to DSPs, registered with Content ID, licensed, sold, or otherwise commercially exploited without prior written authorization from Zak Downtown / 212 Records. Submission to the competition does not grant you the right to commercially release the remix.

• Original rights remain unchanged. All rights in the original “Zones” composition, master recording, vocals, and provided stems remain with their existing rights holder(s). Participation in this competition does not grant ownership of or rights to exploit the original recording or composition.

• Official release requires an agreement. Selection as the winner is contingent upon completing an approved final remix and entering into a separate written remix/release agreement with 212 Records. 212 Records reserves the right not to release a submission if an acceptable final version or agreement cannot be reached.

• By submitting, you confirm that you created the remix, have all necessary rights to the material you contributed, and agree to these rules.
